This site is where I blog about WordPress and WooCommerce and where I share some of the things we do at WordPress. I also love to write short stories which I will post occasionally. I work at Automattic. We make WordPress, WordPress.com, JetPack, and Akismet and many other amazing things.
My family consists of my best friend in the world, Brandi, who is also my wife! We have 9 beautiful and amazing children. We live on a few acres surrounded by vineyards and spend time on our animals, chores, projects, and lots more. I am into Fitness, but not a fanatic like I used to be. I very much enjoy CrossFit. (Blog Post: CrossFit and Asthma). I was heavily into CrossFit for several years and coached at my box in Pleasanton where I was a Level 1 coach. I lost a ton of weight with CrossFit. I now workout at home (we have a full CrossFit setup here) and at Title29.
My Faith is very important to me. I am a believer and follower of Christ. I read quite a bit and enjoy Theology, Philosophy, and Psychology. I also can’t read or listen to enough Tim Keller. Recently I have been going through John Piper’s lectures and taking the kids through The Bible Project.
I very much enjoy music! I love to play the guitar and the piano. Mostly guitar these days when I have time. I am currently learning this piece. I love to learn! I have a B.S. Degree in Counseling Psychology from William Jessup University with a minor in Theology. Psychology remains one of my favorite subjects to read and research on.
I am a pretty big geek who enjoys drinking coffee and watching Science Fiction. Star Trek TNG, Star Trek Voyager, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Sanctuary, etc.
In 2017 I purchased my first gun and started shooting at the gun range. I have found this to be an amazing hobby and I really enjoy it. We have coyote’s that like to come around and pick off our chickens and cats, so I am looking forward to adding a shotgun and a rifle to my collection. There is not a lot of time for my hobbies to be honest, but when I can, I love to unwind with woodworking and coding side projects.
