Spring Break in Livermore
The kids and I spent this last week in Livermore during part of their Spring Break vacation, and we had such a great time. It was just me and 4 of the kids as there was pervious commitments for the remaining kids back home. That’s okay though, my wife and I escaped to the Bay Area 2 weekends ago together and really had a wonderful time.
I say this every time I talk about or write about going home to the Bay Area. On the way down the Altamont coming into the Bay Area, I always feel my batteries start to recharge. It’s probably that way for anyone who has deep roots somewhere and they return.
The highlight this trip was the Livermore Library. It’s a little bitter sweet because they just tore down the original library, the one I grew up going to. Progress I guess. This “new” Library was here when we still lived in Livermore, but that was almost 14 years ago. We used to live down the street from it and I remember it was a great escape for the kids. When we moved to Pleasanton, we went to that Library, so essentially it’s been about 14 years since I have been here. It’s still seems brand new and modern. The internet is fast, it’s quiet, it’s got an amazing cafe and the kids loved all that there was to do there. Working from the Library was very good for productivity for me.
If you are ever in Livermore, take some time to check out the Library!
