Over Thanksgiving we spent some time in my home town. I took my youngest to walk the creek where I played as a kid. She loves to “collect” things, like rocks, bugs, and unique this and that. The area has changed so much. Where it once was just wide open land ripe for exploring, it’s now mostly developed. The Rodeo grounds have expanded, a very nice park, recreation center and sports fields now fill cover most of the land my friends and I would climb through for hours and hours of our summers. The creek is dry, I have only seen it dry a handful of times. Even though it’s pretty rainy right now in the Bay Area, I guess the area still needs more rain before they allow water to flow from Lake Del Valle.
