A month ago, I discovered what is now my absolute favorite YouTube channel (@DannyZee); since then, I have been a little out of control watching his videos whenever I have downtime. The channel is https://www.youtube.com/@DannyZee, and it’s incredible. I love what he does; he is fearless and confident in a way you cannot help but appreciate and a envy a little.
I really like the projects he tackles, and I love that nothing is off limits. Body work, electrical, mechanical, and he is self-taught! He really does it all. He tackles things that he has never done, and he gets it done! He has swapped the entire wiring from one M car to another; he has replaced frames with such precision and care that it’s just as good as a professional in a shop. All in his driveway. I also love the way his wife supports them, and how obviously much they love and are dedicated to each other. Having someone invest in your passion like she does is incredible, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy each other.
Production value is really great too. He is a natural storyteller and a very likable guy; his faith is genuine, and his humility and learning come through loud and clear in his transparency. A lot of car channels I watch feel cringy; they’re self-inflated and braggy, or crass and hard to watch. Not Danny; I feel lifted up when I watch him do this thing I am passionate about but cannot do IRL. I enjoy living through his experiences and though I know I am not seeing everything and there is always more to the story, I genuinely believe that the rest of the story is also good. He shows his struggles and his mistakes, and I love that.
I am not embedding any videos or linking to any; I want you to go discover your own way through his videos. I still have lots to go through; I am trying to pace myself. But the M3, the R8, and the M5 are some of my favorites. It’s funny, I find myself grinning from ear to ear as I watch, and when he solves a tough problem, I feel elated alongside him, and I’ve even yelled “yes!” out loud many times. He has found his calling, and that’s so great to see.
If you like cars, even just a little, give this channel a watch. And subscribe.
Oh, and he has a channel in Spanish as well!
