I am a huge nerd. I am a decent hacker with a long tech career. I love gadgets and blinking lights! I fit the mold for your typical Sci-fi fan. 🙂 I am really into the shows I like, but not fanatical. I don’t have posters, I don’t role play or wear t-shirts that show off my love for Sci-fi. You might never guess I watch Sci-fi quite a bit unless you got to know me. I don’t have anyone in my life that I watch these shows with. It used to be one of my daughters, but she is an adult now and super into Anime. I am not a fan of anime, though she got me to watch and enjoy Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Your Lie in April, Anything from Studio Ghibli, and Frieren.

Inner Light
There is an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation called “The Inner Light”. It’s my favorite episode of Star Trek: TNG.
When I was a kid, I found the concept of living an entire lifetime in a matter of minutes to be fascinating. Later on, I met a guy who owned the whole series on VHS, and I asked to borrow that one episode. Later in life, I acquired the entire series on DVD, and, of course, you can now watch it all on demand.
What I missed as a kid was the song Picard learns. It’s beautiful. As an adult, I fell in love with it! There is an episode later on called “Lessons” that ties into the episode “The Inner Light”. The song comes up again, but is played as a duet.
This version of the song is fantastic. I am now hooked on this channel.
Part of it reminds me of “Hymn“, one of my favorite songs by Vangelis.
